Plan Your Visit
If your group is traveling on Minnesota's North Shore, then you will not want your traveling companions to miss the experience of engaging with local maritime customs and history. The North Shore Commercial Fishing Museum welcomes groups and tour companies.
The Museum will customize your group's visitor experience to the size of the group, the length of your visit, or the style of presentation. From a simple history talk on the Shore to a full hands -on experience, the Museum is capable of meeting your groups needs and choices. Choose from the following type of group tour or contact the Museum to schedule an alternative tour.
Self Guided Tour of the Museum
Allow an hour for members of a group to experience the Museum at their own pace. Stroll through the exhibits, sit down to enjoy one of the many unique historical documentaries, or listen intently to the voices of fishermen from the past. There are outdoor, interactive exhibits along Lake Superior and in depth indoor exhibits. Maps are available for members to take as much time as desired at exhibits of interest.
Museum staff can provide a quick orientation to all the exhibits and highlights. Regular admission fees apply.
Guided Tour of the Museum
This forty-five minute tour will provide the group with an opportunity to experience the Museum with the guided assistance of one of our knowledgeable tour guides. If you ever felt the need to ask questions and get detailed answers, then this type of tour is for you! In fact, your tour guide will be able to point out many of the 'fewer' known historical nuances as well as make the necessary connections between fine historical details that often get lost when visiting a site on one's own.
Cost - $35.00 (group of 20 or fewer)
